Reticulated foam/puppet foam - where to buy it!
Because of my post about buying puppet materials, there was a discussion in the comments about where to buy reticulated foam. It's usually used for muppet-types, but it's hard to find in Australia. From the little I've seen of foam sellers in Australia, I'd bet that you can't actually buy the stuff here. However, there are some places you can order it from overseas:
The industry standard type of foam to use to make puppets is called reticulated foam. This comment was left on my post about places to buy puppet materials, from Tom at Puppeteers Unite:
I have a contact for one here in Canada, if you want maybe we can ship you some :-) You can also order foam through Projectpuppet.com

The posting Naomi referred to was reticulated foam I found in Canadian Tire (hardware store) here in Canada! The only thing I found was that it is about $8.00 each and it is thicker than normal (1 inch) please stay in contact with me at [email removed] and we can see if you can get you some.
Thanks Tom - though I haven't replied yet to the comment, I will do so this weekend when I have more time.
I have however found some replacements for reticulated foam, and you can read more about it here.
